Joaquín Fabré is a Partner at Cases & Lacambra in Spain. His practice focuses on Financial Services.

He has an extensive professional career of more than 15 years in the banking and financial sector. During this time, he has specialized in providing comprehensive advice to banks, other financial institutions and corporate borrowers and issuers on high-level national and cross-border transactions, including banking, finance and restructuring transactions.

He also has extensive experience in syndicated finance, leveraged finance, alternative finance and direct lending transactions. He has also been responsible for complex debt restructuring transactions, insolvency and special situations. He also has experience in post-IPO financing, margin loans and Real Estate financing transactions.

Joaquín Fabré holds a law degree from the Universidad de Alfonso X El Sabio and subsequently obtained an LL.M. in International Business Law from the American University – Washington College of Law. In addition, he specialized in Corporate Legal Counseling at IE Business School; in Law, Development and Diplomacy at Georgetown University; and in Business, Banking and International Relations at Fordham University.

Prior to joining Cases & Lacambra, Joaquín was the partner in charge of Banking and Finance at Baker McKenzie Barcelona, and member of the Banking and Finance Executive Committee for EMEA of the international Firm. Previously, he developed his professional career at Latham & Watkins and Linklaters, being responsible for and participating in some of the most complex and sophisticated financing transactions of recent years in Spain, Europe and the US.

In 2021, Joaquin Fabré was recognized by Iberian Lawyer with the Forty under 40 Thought Leadership Award. He has been recognized as Next Generation Partner by Legal 500.

He is the author of the Spain chapters for the Chambers Global Practice Guides in 2019 and 2020, and of the publication “Lending to a Company in Spain: Signing and Closing a Corporate Loan Transaction” by Thomson Reuters (year 2022).
