Cases & Lacambra announced the appointment of Lidia Vidal as Counsel, thereby expanding its portfolio of services to include Digital Law, Privacy, IP and IT.
With over 11 years of experience, Lidia Vidal specialises in contract negotiation, the alignment of digital platforms with data protection and e-commerce regulations, as well as in trademarks, copyright, advertising law, consumer and user rights, and image rights.
As Counsel, Vidal will focus primarily on advising companies on matters related to data protection, cybersecurity, technology outsourcing and influencer marketing, bringing a distinctive value in a business landscape shaped by the rise of artificial intelligence and the growing centrality of data.
Prior to joining Cases & Lacambra, she developed her career at Pinsent Masons and Uría Menéndez, regularly advising national and international clients on multi-jurisdictional matters across sectors such as fashion and retail, healthcare, financial services and technology. She has also been involved in litigation concerning trademark infringement and invalidity, as well as in cases related to promotional prize draws on social media, among others.
In her new role, Lidia will lead the development of this practice area, working alongside the firm’s other practice groups involved in legal tech and digital transformation. She will also support M&A transactions in the technology sector and advise financial institutions on the challenges posed by technological evolution.
In the field of data and artificial intelligence, she will assist clients in implementing processes and developing tools, with particular attention to the legal challenges surrounding personal data management and the protection of intangible assets in highly digitalised environments.
“The arrival of Lidia marks a decisive step and a strategic move that enables us to continue growing, respond more effectively, and support our clients in managing and leveraging AI and data. At the same time, it complements other practice areas where intellectual property issues frequently converge,” said Ernesto Lacambra, Managing Partner at Cases & Lacambra.
Lidia holds a Law degree from Universitat Pompeu Fabra and a Master’s in Fashion Business Management from IMF Business School.
As for recognition, Vidal was included in the Rising Stars: Europe’s Best Up-and-Coming Female Lawyers 2023 ranking by Law.com, which identifies 25 future female leaders in the legal sector across Continental Europe, and was named Lawyer of the Year – IP & TMT by Iberian Lawyer in the Forty Under 40 Awards in 2023.
