Cases&Lacambra appoints Jose Piñeiro as a new partner of the Litigation and Arbitration group. The Firm’s new partner is a recognized lawyer in banking litigation with an extensive professional experience and an important academic profile.

Jose Piñeiro holds a degree in Law, a Master in Business Law and a PhD in Civil Law by the University of Pompeu Fabra. With more than 12 years of experience, he has developed his career in Cuatrecasas, where he has consolidated an intense expertise advising in judicial an arbitration proceedings in the field of civil and commercial law, specializing in cases of contractual and non-contractual civil liability in the fields of sport, insurance, construction and corporate disputes. He is also specialized in damages claims for antitrust infringements.

He also has extensive experience in advising the main financial entities on claims of investors of different banking products. In this sense, he has been the coordinator of the Cuatrecasas Banking Litigation group in Barcelona for more than 7 years.

Besides his professional career, the new partner of the Firm has also developed an intense teaching activity. In this sense, he has been an associate professor at Pompeu Fabra University for more than ten years where he teaches civil law in the Bachelor’s Degree in Law and in Economics-ADE and is a professor of the Master in Sports Management of the Barcelona School of Management.

The incorporation of Jose Piñeiro to the Cases&Lacambra team represents a strengthening of the Litigation and Arbitration practice of the Firm, a key and strategic area for the growth of the Firm in the coming years.
